Dr. Phillip Harwood grew up in Northridge, California and subsequently graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in psychology. Soon thereafter Dr. Harwood married his wife Debbie and in 1984 they packed up their lives in California to head to Omaha, Nebraska so Dr. Harwood could attend Dental School at Creighton University. Dr. Harwood graduated in 1988 after serving as president of his class for the last two years he was at Creighton. From Omaha, the Harwood Family, which now included twin daughters, moved to Denver where Dr. Harwood participated in a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Denver Veterans Affairs Hospital. In 1989 as his GPR was coming to a close, Dr. Harwood interviewed at Arapahoe Dental when the practice was still owned by Dr. Paul Franklund. Needless to say the interview went well and Dr. Harwood has been here ever since. Since moving to Boulder, Dr. Harwood and his wife have had three more children, making a total of five! Dr. Harwood firmly believes that his education is never complete, and works hard to further his education for his own benefit and for his patients benefit. The doctor is not afraid of the new technology as can be demonstrated by his completion of the prestigious Gordon Christensen Mentorship at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and his invitation to be a Cerec Doctors Mentor at the same location. Dr. Luciano Retana is a third-generation dentist, prosthodontist, educator, and Certified Dental Technician with a career built on excellence and innovation in restorative and implant dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2005, followed by a Master of Science and specialty training in Prosthodontics with an emphasis on dental implants at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2012, he expanded his expertise at New York University, completing the Advanced Education Program in Implantology. Seeking to further refine his skills, Dr. Retana completed a second Master of Science in Dentistry, a Certificate in Prosthodontics, and a Certification in Dental Technology at Louisiana State University, where he served as Chief Resident. Dedicated to both patient care and education, Dr. Retana has held faculty positions at Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University, where he mentors future specialists in prosthodontics and implant dentistry. He is an active member of respected professional associations and is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally on topics such as immediate loading, guided surgery, CAD/CAM dentistry, implants in the esthetic zone, bone regeneration, and occlusion. Now based in Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Retana focuses his private practice on comprehensive restorative and implant dentistry. He is passionate about merging advanced science with a personalized, patient-centered approach, helping each patient achieve a healthy, functional, and confident smile.
